Media Database

Global Database
Gain access to a unique global database with more than 136.000 media and 455.000 journalists in 172 countries. The database is updated daily by more than 120 researchers situated in 12 research centers spanning the entire globe. All media with editorial activity are registered and sorted according to topics, geographic coverage, media type, and language preference. Every single media and journalist listing contains detailed contact information. In order to maintain a high standard our researchers maintain data exclusively covering their own country.
Subject Area
An important criterion when searching for relevant media for a company’s messages are the journalists preferred subject areas and topics. Again and again we meet communication professionals who, for years, have been issuing press releases via their homemade press lists, which often have no principles of exclusion and therefore include “everyone”. Journalists in general might be fond of good news stories from the business world, but in a world where the amount of communication is on a constant rise, we owe them to do a bit of sorting in the quantities we send them. We all have a responsibility to provide significant and relevant information to the public debate, but journalism and corporate communication towards journalists is not a strictly linear discipline where more receivers equal more coverage. Treat the time journalists have available with respect and make sure that no one has to waste their time sorting out irrelevant stories. To facilitate this, we have divided the media in 54 main categories and more than 10 times as many sub-categories. This means that you can find the journalists that are interested in your subject area, with just a few clicks. The subject areas are a combination of various trades and classic journalistic topics.
Nordic Database
For more than five years our Nordic Research Team has taken pride in collecting and refining editorial contact information on all of the journalist media in the nordic countries. Periodicals, daily papers, online media, local media, electronic media, etc. In our Copenhagen based office our five researchers work intensively to ensure the best possible database with information on newsdesks and journalists. Almost 10.000 media and journalists - and growing.
Media Type
Periodicals, daily papers, online media, local media, magazines and every other media all have one thing in common: they all handle and communicate information on specific topics, through certain journalistic method - but this is where the similarity ends. The editorial calendar, the amount of deadlines, time spent on the actual stories, selction of topics, angling, the use of freelancers vs. full time employees, the use of news criteria or other selective criteria vary immensely. So of course they need to be handled differently when communicating with them. We have divided the media into 37 types to make it easy for you to find the best outlet for you.
Danish Database
The Danish Database contain contact information on editorial employees of all journalist media. We index all media with an editorial activity, apart from certain minor local radio-, TV-stations and consumer magazines, who did not have an editorial content. The procedure is based on a series of detailed work processes - both digital and with direct contact to the media. We call the media, with an interval of three months, and gather information through a series of constructed digital tools. Approximately 2.000 media and journalists - and growing.
Language
People often ask us: Are we able to send out press releases in English to German journalists? Actually we don't do this, but one has to weigh in the resources as opposed to the customers wish or need for media coverage in the German media. The chance of getting a lot of publicity is limited if you do not translate into the native language of the journalist, even though you see different conventions within the scientific publications, technical periodicals and financial news. This is why we gather information on the preferred language of the journalist, and we show this in relation to the contact information in Press2go PRM.
Own Contacts
Every company or organization is dependent on a number of stakeholders, who affect the service; shareholders, clients, members, employees, environmental organizations, politicians, etc. The stakeholders have to be informed before the media – or at least simultaneously, and our system makes this easy for you. If you use Press2go PRM you are able to monitor whether or not the recipients read your news or not.
